# pane.Pane.equals

- **Module:** pane
- **Package:** libtmux
- **Language:** TypeScript
- **Kind:** method
- **Source:** https://github.com/libtmux/libtmux-ts/blob/073b9d7dedad900bff6f5ec0ea47794e40225870/packages/libtmux/src/pane.ts#L782

```
equals(other: unknown): boolean
```

Whether `other` is this same pane on this same server.

The socket, the daemon that answered, and `%n` all have to match — a
restarted server issues `%0` again to an entirely different pane, so two
handles can agree on socket and id and still name different panes.
[`sameTmuxIdAs`](/en/ts/latest/reference/pane-pane-sametmuxidas/) asks the weaker question.

## Examples

```ts
pane.equals(await pane.refreshed()); // true
```

## Parameters

- `other` (`unknown`)
