# config.parseWorkspaceYaml

**Workspace Manager concept example** A working example of the core library. It can change without notice.

- **Module:** config
- **Package:** @libtmux/workspace
- **Language:** TypeScript
- **Kind:** function
- **Source:** https://github.com/libtmux/libtmux-ts/blob/46cccfef2a546de55ce8b308249b8c76339089a0/packages/workspace/src/config.ts#L66

```
function parseWorkspaceYaml(source: string): Workspace
```

Parse a YAML or JSON workspace, then validate it.

YAML parsing is Bun's, and this package otherwise runs anywhere — so this is
the one function that does not. Reached from Node it says so, rather than
failing on an undefined global; parse the document yourself and hand the
result to [`parseWorkspace`](/en/ts/latest/workspace/reference/config-parseworkspace/).

## Parameters

- `source` (`string`)
