Description#
Every mutation here is two separable halves: the arguments, which are decided from the options alone, and finding what they produced, which needs a snapshot. Keeping them apart lets many mutations share one final snapshot instead of taking one after every command.
The type parameter is what the command resolves to, so a batch of mixed operations still comes back typed one by one.
